BROKEN LIMB
Digital illustration.2021
This piece references photos my friend took of me in the ER after I broke my left wrist roller skating. I was knocked out on a cocktail of drugs so two doctors and a nurse could wrestle my bones back into place. Whilst unconcious I dreamed I was walking through a pink pine forest under dappled light, stepping into pink sheets of my own artwork. My arm was put in a cast, but after six weeks the bones moved and my wrist opened up for a plate to be screwed in. The recovery process began all over again. When I eventually took my second cast off, the scar was swollen and swallowed the little stick and poke moon tattoo on my wrist. As the swelling went down, he eventually emerged again.
